Course Objectives
We aim to teach students:
- running an experiment including mother-child conversations
- video recording via giving the participants necessary instructions
- maintaining the lab ready for the next experiments
- coding audio and video recorded data
Course Content
The major aim is to involve the students in a typical research activity in their field of interest including designing of research, data collection, analysis of the results, and writing up a research report. Areas in which workshops will be offered will be announced, together with the course codes, each semester.
Prerequisite: Consent of the instructor.
Course Learning Outcomes
We aim students to learn at the end of this course:
- to learn how to communicate and instruct mother-child pairs in psychological research
- to have the responsibility of a research lab and keep the maintanence
- to learn how to code audio and video recorded mother-child conversations
- to work in teams of three students while running participants
