* Studying pivotal works in modern concepts of pleasure and pain, and their relation to religion.
* Students are expected to develop their reading and writing skills; their in-depth knowledge of the reading material; their insights about the specific philosophical problems of and approach to literature, psychoanalysis, and biblical hermeneutics.
