Course Content
This course is intended to introduce contemporary techniques used for the analyzing spatio-temporal data sets in oceanography. The topics of interest include data acquisition and processing, interpolation, empirical orthogonal functions, spectral analysis, wavelet analysis, digital filters and data assimilation. A high-level computational environment will be used to analyze oceanographic data sets through the practical implementation of the methods learned in the lectures.
