Course Objectives
Course Content
This course offers a theoretical and empirical study of the tension inherent between international human rights and foreign policy. The theoretical component addresses globalization, sovereignty, intervention-non-intervention, boundaries of morality and the relativity and universality of human rights. The course also addresses the possibility of merging human rights concerns and foreign-policy making and human rights as a factor in the foreign policies of European states, the US and Turkey.
