Course Objectives


Course Content

The aim of this course is to analyze the Arab-Israeli conflict, which is considered by many people to be at the heart of the crisis of the modern Middle East. The course will analyze the evolution of the conflict from the late-Ottoman period onwards by bringing in analysis from different perspectives. The course aims to provide the students with an understanding of the historical development of the conflict, the major debates and discourses that have emerged regarding the historiography, the sociology, the politics and the international relations of the conflict as well as an understanding of the essential political ideas and ideologies that have motivated and guided the principal actors in the conflict.
