Course Objectives


Course Content

This is a graduate course in the field of European Studies. Students will be given course objectives, stimulating material and an extensive course reading list. This course introduces the main concepts and theories of international migration in order to analyse different types of migration. The course both analyses and assesses the role of individual European states and the EU the formation of European immigration policies since the Second World War. Particular emphasis will be given to recent developments in the formation of common European asylum and refugee policies which have taken on new impetus since the birth of the single market in 1992.
