Course Objectives
At the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify the main research areas and current issues in industrial engineering.
- Evaluate scholarly articles, including both foundational and recent research papers.
- Understand the research methods commonly used in industrial engineering.
- Develop relevant research questions based on a review of the literature and identified gaps.
- Communicate research findings clearly through presentations and discussions.
- Create a focused research proposal or literature review on a selected topic.
Course Content
This course is designed to promote research interest in various areas of IE. References and state-of-the-art papers are discussed. (R)

Students who passed the course satisfactorily will be able to:
- Describe the main research areas and current issues in industrial engineering.
- Understand and explain the main points from research papers.
- Use appropriate research methods to evaluate existing studies in industrial engineering.
- Develop clear research questions based on a review of the literature.
- Present and discuss research findings clearly with an academic audience.
- Write a focused research proposal or literature review showing a good understanding of the topic.
