Course Objectives
Critically think about, talk about and write about designed objects,
Understand the significance of theory in thinking about design,
Understand the basic premises of semiology, cultural studies, actor-network theory, and new materialist anthropological approaches as applied to the analysis of designed objects,
View vernacular understandings of design critically, including technological determinism and individualist and cognitivist approaches to design.
