Course Objectives

By the end of the course, the students will:

  • comprehend common methods of user research and understand models for the integration of user data into the design process
  • formulate and conduct a user research case
  • evaluate user experience

Course Content

Review of basic concepts and models in user research; critical issues regarding self-reported and behavioral data; problem formulation in user research; empirical research design; data analysis and integrating data into the design process.


Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • design and analyze an empirical study
  • select an appropriate method for eliciting information
  • report the findings of an empirical study
