Course Objectives


Course Content

This course is about the politics of body revolving around gender,sex,sexuality,visibility,beauty,nationalism,discipline,fashion. The particular purpose of this course is to familiarize students with analytical approaches and cases to body politics, the differentiated bodily representations and the power practices through the body. As a graduate level seminar, this course offers varied perspectives regarding the control and reconstruction of body/bodies. Additionally, the course will be taught by a combination of assigned texts and interactive discussions. Each week we will dwell on two-four texts and explore the concepts and related insights. On the successful completion of this course, the students will be able to develop critical self-understanding of their perceptions, discuss about their ideas and experiences, and work with the others to achieve common goal.
