Course Objectives
The learning objectives are achieved in a simple to complex process through an inductive and communicative teaching approach which addresses a comprehensive spectrum of language abilities. Exercises become progressively more complex and generally develop specific abilities like listening comprehension, speaking, reading comprehension, or writing. Classroom activities include individual and group work and are complemented by compulsory homework tasks.
By the end of the course, students will
comprehend everyday speech
talk about the past events
communicate in simple and routine situations by email and phone
Write and answer simple messages
make appointments
describe and provide explanations for their future plans and aims
- State their hopes and expectations in relevant contexts
Course Content
This is the second course in the Basic Greek Language sequence. The objectives of the course are to continue developing basic communication skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. Emphasis will be placed on vocabulary expansion, basic grammar acquisition and basic comprehension.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
After completion of this course the students will have finished the level A1.2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Emphasis will be placed on vocabulary expansion, basic grammar acquisition and basic comprehension.
By the end of the course students will be able to:
interact in Greek at a basic level on topics related to every day life
talk or write about past events
ask for the way/ describe the way
use vocabulary related to accommodation and furniture
use vocabulary related to food and eating
give instructions or recommendations
talk about wishes
