Course Objectives

At the end of this course the student will learn

basic concepts in parameter estimation in linear models, reference systems and coordinate transformations,positioning, gravity field of the earth, geodetic datum and datum transformations and map projections.

Course Learning Outcomes

Student, who passed the course satisfactorily will be able to:

estimate parameters in special problems in geodesy and geoinformation

calculate basic positioning problems using GNSS receivers

perform transformations between reference frames and coordinate systems

understand the relationship betwen the gravity field of the earth and the geoid

understand the datum concept (horizontal and vertical)  and calculate datum transformations

understand fundamentals of map projections
