Course Objectives

The learning objectives are achieved in a step-by-step process through an inductive and communicative teaching approach that addresses the complete spectrum of language abilities. Exercises become progressively more complex and generally train specific abilities like listening comprehension, speaking, reading comprehension, or writing. Classroom activities include individual and group work and are complemented by compulsory homework exercises.

At the end of A1.2, learners will be able to:

  • understand and use everyday expressions related to basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, work, and leisure.
  • communicate in simple and routine tasks that require a direct exchange of information.
  • introduce themselves and others, ask and answer questions about personal details
  • describe in very simple terms their living situation, family, daily routines, and immediate needs.
  • understand short, clear, simple messages and texts in everyday contexts.
  • write short notes, messages, and simple emails, and complete basic forms with personal data.

Course Learning Outcomes

After completion of this course the students will have finished the level A1.2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Emphasis will be placed on vocabulary expansion, basic grammar acquisition and basic comprehension.

By the end of the course students will be able to:
