Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the student will learn:
- basic concepts in human genetics
- the evaluation/discussion of literature in the field
Course Content
This course aims to introduce current research methods and fundamental genetic concepts by particular human genetic traits and diseases. Main topics include simple and complex diseases, cancer genetics, cytogenetics, immunogenetics, human genome project, gene therapy and counseling.
Course Learning Outcomes
Student, who passed the course satisfactorily will be able to:
1. understand human genetics terminology and basic concepts
2. apply analytical thinking abilities to human genetics problems
