Course Objectives
The main aim of this course is to introduce the students to the sample short textes from various publications and includes exercises in translation of advanced texts into German. The exercises cover German vocabulary, syntax, phraseolgy and morphology. The course is based on the knowledge that students have acquired in previous semesters and in the other courses from German minor programm.
Course Content
Translations into German from Turkish and/or English. Special problems in translating literary, philosophical, scientific, and commercial texts. Lexical and structural problems in the translation process.

After copleting this course students should be able to:
1. Understand the theory and practice of translation;
2. Understand the syntatic and morphological differences of the languages;
3. Translate different materials from Turkish to German by applaying the basic translation techniques;
4. Know how to translate typical sentences and phrases;
5. Know specific terminology of different areas
