Course Objectives

Students are expected to gain an experience on designing and conducting a scientific research project.


Course Content

Individual research or study with a faculty member, arranged in advance of registration. A one- or two-page written proposal should be submitted to the instructor during the first week of the term specifying the scope of the project, project activities, meeting times, completion date, and student products.


Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course the students will be able to:

  • conduct an original independent research individually on a topic apart from their thesis topic
  • communicate their research practice in a scholarly environment such as national or international conferences
  • take primary responsibility to conduct a research and devote quality of time
  • show motivation and effort in producing quality of work
  • meet course instructor on a regular basis presented in the tentative course schedule below and present their progress
  • submit a contract to course instructor at the beginning of semester and register the course during add drop upon the approval received by course instructor
  • write a manuscript considering the APA style
  • write a conference proposal according to guideline requested for the conference
