Course Objectives

At the end of the course students will have a broad understanding of the definitions of disaster and related terminology, as well as the principles of disaster risk management (DRM), expanding knowledge of DRM strategies. Besides, at the end of the course students are expected to acquire examples about disaster risk reduction strategies and implementations throughout the world comparing with Turkish cases.

Especially EQS students will have a broad understanding about Disaster Risk Management Framework which has an interdisciplinary approach. Any other disciplines should understand the way of thinking without neglecting the other disciplines for the sake of "safer communities and resilient settlements" throughout the world.
