Course Objectives

The course aims to introduce the basic concepts of disaster resillience including the physical, economic, psychological and sociological aspects along with the corresponding assessment methods.  By the end of the course, the sudents will have an understanding of physical, economic, psychological and sociological theories and models related to risk perception and disaster preparedness. Furthermore, it aims to develop an understanding of psychological and sociological impacts of disasters and the corresponding interventions for enhancing resilience and mental health.

Resilience of critical infrastructure. Institutional, social and economical resilience. Resilience assessment. Interdependency Analysis. Indicators of resilience.
