Course Objectives

At the end of this course, the student will learn:

  • the basic tools of comparative literary analysis
  • to comparatively analyze selected works from Turkish and English Literature
  • to distinguish generic and content features of selected works from Turkish and English Literature
  • produce analytical papers on selected works from Turkish and English Literature

Course Content

A study of Turkish and British works evincing similar generic and content features. Emphasis on different genres in different semesters.

  • use basic comparative literary analysis tools
  • critically read and analyze the generic and content features of selected works from Turkish and English Literature
  • identify common features in the chosen texts
