Course Objectives
This course aims to
- provide a firm grounding in major aesthetic, philosophical, cultural and political contexts informing fiction in Britain in the twenty-first century.
- explore recurring thematic concerns and formal characteristics of novels by influential writers hailing from Britain in the new millennium.

At the end of this course students will be able to
- identify and discuss the work of major novelists of the 21st century hailing from Britain.
- make a scholarly analysis and discussion of the major formal and thematic concerns of the 21st century novel in Britain.
