Course Objectives

At the end of this course the student will;

• learn key concepts related to climate change.
• develop "climate literacy".
• develop attitudes and behavior needed to develop more sustainable consumption patterns and contribute to the mitigation of climate change. 
• adapt to the changes that climate change will bring.
• understand and address impacts of global warming,
•develop attitudes and awareness toward climate change-related threats.


Course Content

The course is comprised of innovative educational approaches to help students understand, address, mitigate, and adapt to the impacts of climate change, encourage the changes in attitudes and build a new generation of climate change-aware citizens.
The course provides an introduction to climate change science and shows how the international and national communities are responding. Starting with a scientific perspective, the course content explains the causes and possible impacts of climate change; it also explores ways of coping and dealing with the problem by means of presenting real cases of both national and international context. The course also provides an insight for the individual responsibilities to cope with the problem.

Student, who passed the course satisfactorily will;

be aware of the impacts of daily activities on global climate change (CC) problem.

be informed related to how systems interact with each other in CC science

develop systems thinking skills

be able to find own ways to adopt CC threats in professional and daily life 

be informed about impacts of CC through sustainable development point of view
