Course Objectives

Students completing this course are expected to;

1. understand the  basic principles of measurement and evaluation

2. comprehend basic, concepts related to measurement, evaluation and curriculum evaluation

3. analyze purposes and processes of curriculum evaluation prospectives/trends

4. analyze various curriculum evaluation studies

5. select and propose evaluation models appropriate to aim of evaluation and context,

6. demonstrate interest in curriculum advancement as a field of study.


Course Content

Theory and research related to curriculum/program evaluation. Study and analysis of various standards and models in curriculum/program evaluation. Application of research designs in evaluation process.


Course Learning Outcomes

1.1.  interpret each principle in relation to its use in practice

2.1. compare and contrast the given concepts related to measurement, evaluation and curriculum evaluation

3.1. explain the main constituents of each evaluation trend and models

4.1. write the strengths and weaknesses of a given curriculum evaluation study

5.1. proposes appropriate evaluation models and procedures for a requested curriculum evaluation study.

6.1. voluntarily participate to studies ,workshops, projects  related to curriculum evaluation and improvement.
