Course Objectives
- know basic concepts and theories pertaining to organizational psychology
- understand the application of organizational psychology in today’s workplace
- analyze organizational psychology theories and relevant research
- Judge the adequacy of studies on different organizational psychology topics
- Facilitate discussions on research studies in organizational psychology
Course Content
Human problems in organizations. Organizational perspectives of human nature and motivation. Leadership and participation. Inter group problems in organizations. Organizations as dynamic and developing systems.
Course Learning Outcomes
Students who pass the course succesfully will be able to
1. Explain the forces that have shaped current research and practice in organizational psychology
2. Critically assess organizational psychological theory and research
3. Discuss the theoretical approaches in each major topic area of organizational psychology
4. Critique material related to organizational psychology
5. Present summaries and critical assessment of research studies in Organizational Psychology
5. Become exposed to the various methodologies used to study issues in organizational psychology
6. Write a literature review paper
