Course Objectives
By taking this course, students will
- understand the nature of research and how it relates to educational practice
- understand the different purposes and assumptions of quantitative and qualitative research
- conduct a review of literature on a specific educational topic
- understand the basic procedures involved in sampling, measurement, and design
- develop skills in comprehending, interpreting, evaluating, and applying the findings of published research articles and other research reports
- develop an ability to conceptualize, develop, carry out, and write a research proposal.

An overview of educational research process and procedures; understanding and developing competence in research methods; application of different research designs.
