Course Objectives

It is the aim of the course to familiarize students with regression and estimation theory to constitute an introduction and a basis for more specific and advanced econometric courses.The course materials are mathematical, and the emphasis is on understanding rather than on “cookbook” applications.


Course Content

Probability Distribution Theory and Statistical Inference; the linear regression model; maximum likelihood ; specification problems; data problems; non-linear regression.


Course Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course students are expected to have acquired the knowledge on general linear regression model, its algebra, estimation and inference.
