Course Objectives

By the end of this course the students will

  • comprehend the MONE Early Childhood Education Curriculum for Children Between the ages of 0-36 months-old
  • comprehend the MONE Early Childhood Education Curriculum for children of 36-72 months-old
  • know how to prepare developmentally appropriate activity plans for children between the ages of 36-72 months-old

Course Content

Introducing students to the field, and gaining experience with young children. Opportunities including class observation, adaptation to classroom conditions, planning and preparation. Guided teaching practice in Early Childhood Education.


Course Learning Outcomes

Student, who passed the course satisfactorily will :

  • be able to describe the basic characteristics of MONE Early Childhood Education Curriculum for children between the ages of 0-36 months of age
  • be able to list objectives and indicators presented in the MONE Early Childhood Education Curriculum for children between the ages of 0-36 months-old 
  • be able to list all documents they are expected to fill when they begin to teaching
  • be able to describe basic characteristics of MONE Early Childhood Education Curriculum for children of 36-72 months-old
  • be able to list objectives and indicators presented in the MONE Early Childhood Education Curriculum for children between the ages of 36-72 months-old 
  • be able to list all documents they are expected to fill when they begin teaching professional
  • be able to select appropriate objectives and indicators according to the basic needs of 36-72 months-old children
  • be able to prepare two developmentally appropriate activity plans in the light of selected objectives and indicators for children between the ages of 36-72 months-old each week during the semester
  • be able to decide appropriate assessment techniques and develop parent involvement activities for their activity plans each week during the semester
  • be able to complete 13 weeks practicum in their practicum schools and work collaboratively with school staff in the practicum school
  • be able to prepare developmentally appropriate materials for their activities
  • be able to prepare all expected documents of MONE Early Childhood Education Curriculum for children of 36-72 months-old
  • be able to write a daily schedule for each week during the semester
  • be able to prepare 3 monthly plans during the semester
  • be able to prepare 3 monthly objective-indicator charts during the semester
  • be able to prepare 3 monthly concept charts during the semester
  • be able to observe a child and prepare 3 monthly Child Observation Report and one Child Development Report during the semester

11To understand the importance of family involvement in children's education and to plan activities related to family involvement.
12To have knowledge about literary genres prepared for pre-school children and to examine existing publications in terms of literary and artistic perspectives.
13To have knowledge about the importance and purpose of the use of formal and informal assessment methods appropriate for the age level and developmental level of pre-school children, and to apply and interpret different evaluation methods and to be able to interpret findings.
14To be able to follow/access, understand and question scientific publications for pre-school education.
