Course Content
Introduction of the contemporary theory, research, and methods relevant to understanding social and emotional development during childhood.
Course Learning Outcomes
Upon satisfactory completion of the course, students will be able to:
1. demonstrate knowledge of the major theories and methods in the study of social and emotional development;
2. demonstrate knowledge of the unique developmental processes that occur in early childhood
social and emotional development;
3. identify early tasks of social development such as attachment and temperament
4. explain how family, peers, school and media affect children’s social and emotional development.
