Course Objectives

It basically aims to enable the student to scrutinize a problem, organize its solutions, budgetize and program its implementation within a project through introducing concepts and terms relevant implementation of Urban Project Management. The context of the projects differ according to the interest area and working subjects of students which varies from urban gentrification  to transport planning, from regional development to gender equity projects.


Course Content

Project Cycle Management; Logical Framework Analysis; social Impact Assessment; Project Design; Negotiation and Stakeholder Analysis; Monitoring and Assessment; Financial Estimation and Evaluation.


Course Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:

  • Analyze the roots of a defined problem within a hierarchical relation diagram
  • Scrutinize the solutions for each sub division of the problem analysis
  • Define stakeholders involved in the problem and analyze their relation
  • Outline a strategy for solution in relation with relevant stakeholders
  • State the background of the problem in a logical system
  • Objectively verifiable indicators of achievement
  • Outline activities that will lead to the solution selected according to the strategy
  • Express technical, staff and financial needs of the activities
  • Define a schedule for activities.
