Course Objectives
By the end of this course, students will:
- Explore foundational concepts of creative thinking, specifically within the context of planning practice and theory.
- Develop cognitive skills such as reflection, critical analysis, and comprehension to understand complex urban and social systems.
- Encourage proactive and future-oriented thinking to respond to planning challenges across social, political, and technical dimensions.
- Introduce interdisciplinary thinking by integrating perspectives from design, politics, and ethics into planning thought and practice.
Course Content
Introducing the students with the basic conceptions and skills needed for creative thinking to be utilised in the act of planning which requires the basic cognitive faculties such as reflection, analytical comprehension and cognisance as well as the constructive, interventionist and generative mode of engagements like design and politics. Enabling students to develop positive , constructive, proactive and futuristic mind-set while tackling with the social, political and technical aspects of planning.
