Course Objectives

At the end of this course, the student will learn:

  • main concepts of stereochemistry used in organic chemistry
  • 3D-structure of organic molecules, stereoselectivity in dynamicprocess
  • Symmetry elements of organic molecules

Course Content

Basic concepts of stereochemistry. Resolution of racemic forms, preparation of streoisomers, asymmetric synthesis, chiroptical methods in structure elucidation.


Course Learning Outcomes

Student, who passed the course satisfactorily will be able to:

  • know all kinds of stereochemical characteristics of organic molecules,
  • stereoselectivity in reactions
  • the source of chiral induction
  • types of asymmetric synthesis
