Course Objectives

After completing the course students are expected to be able to:

Demonstrate an understanding of theoretical framework grounding mobile learning.

Identify recent research foundations and recent research studies in mobile learning.

Identify technological requirements for mobile learning environments.

Identify the technical specifications of mobile devices and successful sample applications for supporting student learning.


Course Content

The theoretical framework and practical applications for the use of mobile technologies for learning.-Underlying philosophy and theories of mobile learning.-Recent research topics and research papers on mobile learning.- Pedagogical issues in mobile learning.-Trends, techniques, development and application tools used to create and utilize learning environments with mobile device support.-Examples and best practices.-Formats and standards for mobile learning.-New mobile technologies such as immersive networks, augment reality, podcasts, mobile web applications, text and video in mobile devices.-Existing educational applications for current popular mobile devices, applications and browsers.


Course Learning Outcomes

Create instructional scenarios where learns could be supported through different types of mobile devices and applications.

Discriminate the pedagogical difference between other technology enhanced learning environments and of mobile learning.

Design Instructional methods and teaching activities for mobile learning environments.
