Course Objectives

To teach graduate students the performance assessment concept and vulnerability for RC building structures


Course Content

Seismic performance objectives and code design criteria. Linear and nonlinear seismic analysis. Procedures for evaluating existing buildings. Vulnerability assessment techniques. Introduction to loss estimation and earthquake insurance.


Course Learning Outcomes

Students will be familiar with perfomrance based assessment and will also be able to assess performance of existing RC buildings according to common codes
