At the end of this course, the student will learn:

Course Learning Outcomes

Student, who passed the course satisfactorily will be able to:

  • Identify the suitable sites for marina projects using data for marina design parameters
  • Determine the capacity of a marina using market analysis
  • Compute long term and extreme statistics for wind and wave parameters
  • Calculate wave parameters using fetch, wave generation and wave transformation processes
  • Design the water area of the marina layout using national and international guidelines
  • Design rubblemound breakwater
  • Describe and discuss marina design in terms of environmental and social impacts
