Course Objectives
- Estimation of various asset types
- Estimation of firm value
- Evaluating others' estimates and estimation methods
Course Content
This course focuses on valuation of real and financial assets. The valuation methods covered are discounted cash flow approaches, multiples and real options. Students will learn how to calculate value for various asset types and how to choose the appropriate method of valuation.
Course Learning Outcomes
- Understand the concept of valuation of assets.
- Analyze the factors that affect valuation.
- Evaluate different approaches to valuation, and choose the appropriate model.
- Evaluate value by using discounted cash flow analysis (DCF).
- Evaluate value by using multiples (Relative Valuation)
- Analyze the results of valuation models and apply the result to help in making financial and strategic decisions.
