Course Objectives

This course aims to improve the students’ ability to explore and use ways of expressing the complex dimensions of the urban context through creative mapping techniques in architecture.


Course Content

Understanding and expression of complex urban environments using the techniques of creative mapping in architecture. Readings for introducing the theory of creative mapping in architecture, and discussion on examples from art and architecture. Use of creative mapping techniques by students to present the lived space in the contemporary city.


Course Learning Outcomes

1. Improve knowledge and ability to use the theoretical and methodological information in the area of presentation in architecture.

2. Develop sensibility to the urban environments in which we live and ability to conceptualize ‘lived space’ in the contemporary city.

3. Improve ability to visualize analysis, findings, proposals and assessments with proper visual media.

4. Improve ability to access the required information related to the concepts, discussions and developments in the field of architecture.

5. Develop consciousness of professional and ethical responsibilities in the field of architecture.
