Course Objectives

Acquisition of knowledge, attitudes and skills required to pursue advanced research studies in contemporary Architecture and Built Environment, specifically referring to the faculties of critical theory. Contemporary elements of interdisciplinary epistemic grounds of non-architectural fields on natural and built environments are to be exposed with regards to social and political contexts of space. In this regard, the course will specifically focus on course participants’ original research questions, and drive the students into non-architectural epistemes throughout the semester. The students are encouraged to present and share their original research outcomes publicly, and discuss their findings with the instructor for possible improvements. The students are required to be engaged in substantive reading, development and research towards the production of a scholarly work. The readings are to be decided according to each students' needs and preferences.

 


Course Content

Individual tutoring on specific topics that are related to unique and special interests of Masters students.

At the end of the course, the students will have acquired an in-depth knowledge of the topic selected for their independent study on the focused subject area.
