  • To explore the relationship between vision, visuality, and architecture through historical and contemporary perspectives.
  • To critically analyze texts and media that shape the discourse of architectural representation.
  • To equip students with the abilities of multidisciplinary communication tools and research fields.
  • To engage students in hands-on activities that enhance their understanding of visual representation and its impact on architectural thought.
  • To examine the role of curation and exhibition design in the representation and conservation of architectural values.
  • To develop students’ ability to articulate their understanding of architectural representation through written and visual means.

Course Content

This course is about different modes and techniques of representation in architecture; directed to master students. Focusing on conventional representation techniques, its objective is to study the transformations in the definition of the works of architects from `toll of communication` to `aesthetic objects`. Instead of suggesting a continuity in this transformation process however, this course is organized to show the possible coexistence of these characteristics.

  • Analyze the relationship between vision, representation, and architectural discourse through written and visual assignments.
  • Develop an ability to interpret and critique architectural drawings, models, and exhibition practices.
  • Gain hands-on experience in archival research and exhibition design related to architectural representation.
