Course Objectives

Students will be able to learn how to build a model glider which is so-called ATA airplane. 

Course Content

Students are required to participate in a one-week summer practice at Türk Hava Kurumu (THK) model aircraft school which includes building a small model airplane.


Course Learning Outcomes

To gain knowledge of basic aircraft components, such as wing, fuselage, vertical fin, ailerons, rudder, etc.

Ability to have basic understanding of main structural elements of a fixed wing aircraft.

Ability to build a model of a balsa wood glider (i.e. ATA Aircraft).

Ability to conduct team work (within the discipline).
