Course Objectives
The course aims to guide the students to have a deeper understanding on relavant aspects of Central Asian region depending on their own areas of interest or specialization.
Course Content
This course is to be offered to those students who have an interest in the newly emerged Central Asian republics of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzistan and Turkmenistan. It aims to provide an in-dept analysis on an advanced level about the history of the area, and the socio-economic, political, cultural and religion factors shaping these countries.
Course Learning Outcomes
The students are expected to have a deeper understanding of the region as a result of class discussions and reserach papers prepared for this course.
