Course Objectives

This course has the basic objective of introducing the students a general framework on the field of comparative government, by focusing on four countries: the United States, The United Kingdom, France and Russia.


Course Content

This course provides a conceptual introduction to the field of Comparative Government. After briefly analyzing the legislative, executive and judiciary branches of government, it studies the governments of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and the Russian Federation.


Course Learning Outcomes

Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:

- compare and contrast the structures and functions of these branches across different countries.

- understand and analyze various government systems,

- appreciate the complexity of political institutions, 

- engage in informed discussions about comparative politics and governance
