Course Objectives
The overall goal of the course is to improve students' ability to master every-day situations in a Arabic-speaking environment.
The objectives of the course are to develop basic communication skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. Emphasis will be placed on vocabulary expansion, basic grammar acquisition and basic comprehension.
By the end of the course, students will be able to
- understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.
- Learn conjugation of Arabic language
- numbers, cost, time and dates
- fill in forms with personal details
- ask for or pass on personal details in written form (a short massage, an e-mail or a postcard);
- understand instructions
- interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

A continuation of ARAB 201.
Course Learning Outcomes
After completion of this course the students will have finished the level A1.2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). At the end of the course the students will be able to:
- understand complexity of social life
- discuss daily life issues
- ask for or pass on personal details in written form (a short massage, an e-mail or a postcard);
- understand instructions;
- understand and extract information from simple listening and reading texts using a range of strategies.
