Course Objectives
This course aims to introduce advanced approaches to the study of organizations, including, but not only limited to post-humanist, neo-institutional and complexity-based approaches. This entails a deeper understanding and evaluation of how digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (AI) necessitates a reconfiguration of organizational boundaries, authority and work processes. The course also tries to present critiques of the ethical and power implications of new organizational forms that develop with innovations in technology.

Students will be able to:
Compare competing explanations for organizational behavior in complex environments.
Design research projects using innovative organizational theories (e.g., assemblage theory, institutional work).
Assess how global crises (e.g., pandemics, climate change) challenge traditional organizational models.
Debate the future of bureaucracy, hierarchy, and legitimacy in the 21st century.
Synthesize insights across disciplines (e.g., organizational sociology, behavioral economics, STS).
