Course Objectives
- To sensitize architecture students to environmental, climatic, natural and man- made qualities.
- To make them conscious of sensory values.
Course Content
A theoretical course conducted in discussions on assigned readings and research. Aims to introduce students to environmental concerns and issues of aesthetics related to the environment and to social and urban experiences. Apart from the discussions, students are asked to submit papers related to the environment, short stories, drawings and visual documentation.
Course Learning Outcomes
Students from many faculties of the university have felt this course has changed their perceptions. Students created land art, natural sounds and other forms of receptivity during the course and have created installations and spaces with colors etc. There were alternatively 15 to 20 enrollments. Students from 3rd and 4th years could take the course. Several semesters we concentrated on drawing and sketching because this was an important way to make students see better and to understand what they saw.
